Chatham Hill Winery in Cary North Carolina has been around since 1999, which makes them one of the earlier adopters of North Carolina Fine Wines in the state. For 18 years Marek Wojciechowski, co-owner and winemaker, has helped to bring attention to the quality and varities of Yadkin Valley's grapes to the Triangle. They are also the first Urban Winery in North Carolina.
Marek crafts these award winning wines onsite using the best of both traditional and modern technology to produce high quality wines. When you have great fruit, then great wines can be born. He does that with a minimalist approach, to let the flavors of the fruit show through.
Being located in the town of Cary, you won't be seeing a flowing expanse of vines, but you will be able to relax and enjoy their beautiful
tasting room with both indoor and outdoor spots to gather with friends. The events are fun too, like WineAway Fridays where they stay open until 10:00 PM. You can play board and card games with your friends either in the Tasting room area or out on the dog-friendly patio. You're also invited to bring food in from local restaurants to pair with their wines and listen to live music. There's no cover charge, so you can put that extra money into a bottle to take home.
Employing about a dozen people at the winery, you'll have a great case to visit and tour Chatham
Hill Winery. You can make the most of their urban winery by getting your friends together and enjoying a tasting, then perhaps a tour, and finally a glass or bottle to have with lunch or snack on their patio. As Fall approaches, you'll have a great excuse for a place to sit, read a book or magazine, catch a few rays, and enjoy your favorite wine on the patio. That's what is great about an urban winery. You get to #DrinkLocal on a regular basis, without having to drive far to get the winery tour experience.
